Wentz Gets Cut

What a fall, man. Wentz was in the MVP conversation in 2017 before he went down. Now he’s getting jettisoned by his 3rd team in 3 years. Dwayne Johnson is about to slide into his DMs to get him to start for the XFL. I hope he does, Wentz would make the XFL 300% more watchable.
Post for favorite Wentz moments!
Mine is either him getting inexplicably put back in the starting role for one game in 2022 only to lose the game and get the Commanders eliminated, or this incredible pick.
I’m not sure that Carson could hit a duck at point blank range, let alone snag one while it’s in the air, lol. I feel like it would ricochet off of an airplane and hit him in the ass. Every time.
This is why he needed three shots.
To me, this will always be /the/ Wentz play. Could never take him seriously as a QB after this. I’ve seen many sacks, but never one as comical as this one

This was his worst INT of that season, but it wasn’t the only highlight level one. He’s lucky he played in an offense where the stats for the QB always look good because of quick completions, because I’ve seriously never seen so many passes hit the defeder in the hands, head, helmet, chest. And I was only watching the Red Zone portion of the Colts games – so only like 85% of their offensive drives :p
….I posted a sack play, while Wentz was on the Eagles, versus the Cowboys. Completely comical play where Wentz gets bodied by a defender while looking away from the field. Nothing about an interception.
That was meant for the prior comment chain.
I’m still trying to figure out how a team spends THAT MUCH MONEY to give someone a new contract… and then immediately drafts his replacement. If you knew he was such a problem, why the hell did you extend him in the first place?
LOL and some people thought we would try getting wentz from the colts LAMO
Titans fan bias here but any of his last three interceptions against us. The creative way to avoid the safety or the forced pass to a triple covered Pittman in OT, nearly getting James Harrison’d at the end of the game, all classics.
There’s a legitimate conversation to be had about if Wentz is the largest fall from grace in recent memory, maybe even ever? It’s right up there with the likes of Todd Gurley, RG3, Lev Bell, etc. You figured both he and Jared Goff were going to be future faces of the NFL, especially Carson with how out of his mind he played.
I heard in a Peter King interview that he always resented Nick Foles and the Super Bowl run in 2017. King said something along the lines of “[Carson] always felt like it should be his statue. That if he hadn’t gotten hurt, he would have won them the Super Bowl.” Honestly, he may have a point? Nick Foles has only played half a dozen good games in his entire career. They’ve been better than most games played by many QBs in tehir entire careers, but he’s generally not a great QB. If he’s at the helm all year, I think the Eagles flounder a bit. Maybe they still make the playoffs, but they likely aren’t the 1-seed. Oddly though, I feel that while Wentz likely still gets them to the Super Bowl, I’m not sure he wins it. That game was full of TONS of scoring and I don’t think Wentz plays the perfect game that was needed to pull it out.
I wish Carson had been the QB in that Superbowl.
A few classic Wentz brain cramps and the Pats would have blown them out.
It turned into a Frank Miller comic on the last panel.
Does that mean the duck is a who— errrr, “lady of the night”?
Whenever someone says Frank Miller, I think of this. And how hilariously awful All Star Batman and Robin is.

A Shortpacked comic. I see you are a man of class.
Unsurprisingly, my favorite moments are when he helped the Bison win the FCS Championship for 4 years in a row. It’s such a shame that his pro career was such a mess, as I think he really did have potential. (Story as old as time, I know.)
As an Eagles fan, I could probably write a small essay on my feelings about Wentz. There was a lot in the five years he was with the team, and a few more notes about the years after. Eagles fans had to keep an eye on him for those two years, once because of the trade, the other because he was in the division. He’s a tragedy, as classic as it comes. Brilliance, pain, hubris, devastation. The Carson Wentz experience.
“Wentz would make the XFL 300% more watchable”
300% of 0 is still 0.
A moment of pedantry: “whence” means “from where”, hence, “from whence” is redundant.
Mine has to be when he completely soiled the sheets with the playoffs on the line against a 2-14 Jaguars squad. Not a single moment, but an entire game of ineptitude.
And yet, the Commies saw him play that game and thought he was worth draft capital
