Tony Romo Learns The Truth
If you think about it, this is the first time Tony is going to be at a Championship game.
Blake Bortles, Nick Foles, and Case Keenum have all officially made it farther in the playoffs than Tony Romo.
I don’t know what to expect tomorrow. Honestly that’s part of the thrill. All 4 of these teams feel capable of winning their games. The Patriots are obvious favorites. The Jags feel just good enough that if they play their best and the Pats struggle a bit, they Jags could very much pull off the victory. The Vikings and Eagles almost feel like mirrors of each other. Both have defenses that are going to wreak hell on the opposing QB. I think the Vikings have the better QB and passing game, but the Eagles have the better running game. Any of these teams could win and damn, that’s what it should be about.
I’m not going to predict any games because eh, I’d rather just enjoy them as they happen. We’ve only got 3 and 1/10th football games left to watch this season, so we have to savor it while it’s here.
Have a good championship week, folks!
I can safely assume the 1/10th is the Pro Bowl. Lol.
1/10th? I think you’re way over-selling the Pro Bowl.
I thought he was predicting one of the games would go to OT.
But yeah the probowl is like 1/25th of a game. It’s barely better than preseason or Canada ball.
i would take preseason wayy before probowl. i mean fuck, preseason is actually interesting you get to see new talent and new players in the pros
If they want to make the Pro Bowl more interesting they should take all these big badass football players and have them play a game of Red Rover, Four Square or whatever else we played in elementary school. I bet Gronk would be a beast at TV tag.
I will admit that nothing could make me happier than da GOAT Tahm getting aBORTed by Blakey Blake but this feels like the kind of game the dark lord Bellicheck feasts on. A Super Bowl with Bortles in it would be the funniest thing ever though, and not just because that would mean the Patriots lost to them.
The bar is set pretty high as far as portraying a retired QB as a dufus. You’ll have a tough row to hoe should Eli ever venture into broadcasting.
Give me Romo and Eli in the booth with Cutty on the sidelines interviewing players. Be still my beating heart!
I think the Yankees will beat the Cavs in game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals to win the World Cup! Go Bort! Just because it would seem funny. Future GOAT matchup…….Bort VS Dilfer?
Then that means Romo thinks the Divisional round is the Superb Owl?
harsh
I’m more concerned with how Brady is gonna react in the post-game conference when he’s asked how he lost to Blake Bortles.
He barely avoided that.
LET’S GO!!!!!!
Doom. There will be doom…
Now with that said, go Vikings!
But then again…when’s the last time anyone trusts the Vikings in the playoffs? Even their fans couldn’t trust them.
Patriots vs Eagles super bowl. Get hyped
Pats- philly…..whyyyy do you have to do me like this?!? And Dave, how are you on this?
(I’m from nd and so is wentz, so GO PHILLY!!!!!)
I’m rooting for the Patriots, because A) doing 3/4 Super Bowls twice craps on the Cowboys legacy, and B) the Eagles being not only the only NFC East team without at least 3 Super Bowl wins– but without ANY wins– is a legacy I’m in favor of maintaining, and C) I enjoy watching the world burn as anti-Patriots hysteria grows.
Getting to stick it to the NFC *twice* in one Super Bowl is just great. It’s just a shame it’s an AFC East team that’s gonna do it.
….I never thought I’d say it but go Patriots.
Here’s why I’m rooting for the Patriots:
1. The Philly fans treated the Vikings and their fans like shit, they don’t deserve the Lombardi.
2. Stick it to the Steelers Fans who say “Got six? Got Six? Got six? No? Then stfu.” Tired of that.
3. Stick it to Roger Goodell, making him the trophy over to the Pats once again.
4. Brady will have more Super Bowl wins the 30 NFL Franchises. Let that sink in. And you’re telling me he’s not the GOAT. Yeah right. Tell me the last time a QB over the age of 40 who won the Super Bowl (as a starter).
5. To end this shit: http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/211210352/undefined_9
If you wanna get really technical, the eagles and Bills are the only teams in the WHOLE east that haven’t won the big game
God dammit, the nightmare scenario has come true. But I’m sticking with the Patriots purely on the fact that the Eagles’ fans are fucking horrible and Brady-Belichick are already the greatest dynasty, so this barely affects their legacy anyways. Plus I want to solidify the fact that Eli Manning is the only person to beat Brady in the SB
Second greatest dynasty!:) who remembers da 70s
5 > 4
Second best dynasty is all Steelers were. And Pats had theirs under salary cap.
If you want to say that the Steelers are the most storied franchise, you can say that. But Brady and Belichick are, in fact, the greatest dynasty in football. No argument. They’ve done it all, and I think Brady is getting a bit tired of the post-super bowl ceremony
The Steelers Dynasty isn’t even the fourth best Dynasty in NFL history.
4. 80s-early 90s 49ers
3. 40s/50s Browns
2. 60s Packers
1. 2000s-10s Patriots
All won more championships, most faced stronger competition, and all of them were relevant for more years. All had a bigger impact on the way football is played. All were more innovative. The Steelers Dynasty, and the 90s Cowboys Dynasty, are two of the weakest historic dynasties out there, and receive undo adulation because of their never-fell-off-the-70s-bandwagon fanbases. That’s not to say they weren’t great– they were. But in comparison to the others, they’re just inferior. (For what it’s worth, the Cowboys are lower down on that totem pole than the Steelers– not just because fewer rings, but because their impact on the game is dramatically less).
Oh, and the Packers are clearly the most storied franchise.
That’s up for debate. NFL football was hardly a big deal when a meat packing company could sponsor a team. It was like beer league softball for the Packers heyday.
5 championships in the 1960s. Another in the 90s, with another loss. Another in the last decade. That’s not even including the stuff before– and the NFL was definitely a big deal by the 1960s when they started. Even before that, Green Bay’s mystique was a large part of what made the NFL viable until The Greatest Game Ever Played. 7 wins, a *far* more important Dynasty than the Steelers in the most important time for the NFL to prove itself. And say what you will about it not being a big deal, the Packs of the 30s were indescribably important to the advancement of the passing game, line play, and secondary play. I’m not a Packers fan– I actively dislike them, really– but to put any other team as Most Storied before them is incredibly disingenuous. Belichick may be a better coach than Saint Vince, but he sure as hell isn’t more important… and Noll was basically a glorified GM.
Sorry. I admit that I hate the Steelers marginally more than I dislike the Packers, but you gotta be homering if you think the Steelers beat the Pack for most storied franchise.

If the Patriots wins, then it’s all horse shit but there’s only one way to find out. It would also means the Eagles would be the team at the wrong end of this as they’d be known as the team the Patriots beat to end that trend. Also it means the Pats had no excuse for SB 42.
If the Eagles wins, the trend continues and Jason Peters gets a ring.
Between the two, I think I would want the Patriots to win.
