New Orleans going into Meltdown mode

EDIT: I DON’T NORMALLY CHANGE THINGS OUTSIDE A SPELLING ERROR OR TWO BUT TODAY IS THE EXCEPTION
The Saints are going nuclear right now. Everyone but Brandon Cooks and Drew Brees are supposedly on the trading block. Jimmy Graham goes to Seattle. Kenny Stills is being shopped. Rumors about teams aiming for Kenny Vaccaro. The Saints are in full fire sale mode and I suggest you pull up a seat and watch it burn. I have no idea what’s causing all this (it can’t all be just cap space issues) but man, we might be ground floor of something big here.
Or it could fizzle out as soon as I post this changed comic. Probably will, I jinxed it.
“It’s funny because they both used to play basketball.” Dave that is the best thing I’ve heard all week.
The crazy thing about Graham is they knew this was coming. They had the numbers all set out in front of them, they knew they couldn’t afford to keep everyone on the team. They knew they essentially signed him to a one-year deal. It’s mind-boggling.
I still think Drew Brees deserves a heavy share of blame for the Saints heading in a belly-up direction. Brady, Peyton, Eli, Big Ben, every quarterback that wants to win restructures their deal when their cap hit gets enormous. Brees held the Saints hostage during the negotiations, and now he’s sitting without a care in the world as the team crumbles around him, happy to count his money instead of taking a pay cut and helping his team. Great as he is, he is not worth well over $26,000,000.
What’s blocking? That’s what all those injured guys used to do before Russell Wilson started running around everywhere to the apparent delight of Perry Fewell, right?
“It’s funny because they both used to play basketball.”
OH SHIT ICE BURN
Fantastic 😀
Jimmy Graham tweeted around 2 years ago that he would retire when Drew Brees retired, and that he “would never play for another quarterback”…
If a tweet is a binding contract, I am in some deep shit
You’re fine, Aaron Rodgers has already set precedence for tweets not being binding.
HOORAY ANOTHER OFFSEASON PASS CATCHER THAT HAD SHAKY PLAY THE PREVIOUS YEAR! I can’t wait for Deion Branch 4.0
“Pro bowl center”
As much as I love max, and think that you can’t tell the winner of a trade until years into the future, I love this deal for Seattle. Max played six games this year, and has had injury problems since forever. In addition to giving up an early pick, we finally give Russ an elite pass catcher he’s never had. I’m excited!
If Unger fails his physical the trade is negated though. Which isn’t good for anyone, but especially not good for us.
Who is “us”? #WhoDatNation or #LegionofBoom?
#LegionOfBoom
Uh Bevell knows exactly how to use a guy like Graham. Unfortunately we acquired him one offensive snap too late…
Sad to see the end of Jewrimmy
I’m laughing because of that pre-gane clusterfuck argument a few years back in the divisional round between Seattle and New Orleans
Saints definitely won this trade, just look at it from Seattle’s point of view. They got a great improvement of receiver, but how is Wilson going to have time to throw to them without a pro bowl center, and arguably their best Olineman? Then they give up their first round pick which could have been used to replace him, or at least ease the pain of the loss. Russell is not going to be able to scramble like he does if the pressure is coming right down the A-gaps, big mistake by Seattle IMO.
>>”how is Wilson going to have time to throw to them without a pro bowl center, and arguably their best Olineman?’
They’ll probably do something similar to what they’ve done when that center was out injured for long stretches. Hasn’t stopped them going to the Superbowl twice.
>>”Then they give up their first round pick which could have been used to replace him, or at least ease the pain of the loss.”
Front office didn’t see anything worth waiting for at 31. Considering the last few highly placed linemen never turned out to much, they’re probably fine to continue bringing in goons to run block a bit and pretend to pass block.
>>”Russell is not going to be able to scramble like he does if the pressure is coming right down the A-gaps, big mistake by Seattle IMO.”
Everybody knows this, yet he keeps chugging along. It’s not like Cards/Rams/49ers don’t have the defenses to do that sort of thing. What more do you want to see?
Why is Drew Brees’ Baby wearing a headset?
Do you not remember when Brees won the Super Bowl he carried his kid up to the podium with massive headphones on to protect his hearing?
Oh, lol, just thought you had made him holding a tiny Shean Payton in place of the baby… :p
Sean Payton thinks so too, that’s why the picture is up on his wall XD
As a Saints fan, I honestly freaked when I first heard the trade news. When I found out the specifics, I was actually ok with it. Yes, the Saints loose a huge target and a player who was a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses. I like Jimmy. I hate to see him go. But looking at it realistically, the Saints are not a contender right now. Too many holes, not enough cap space, and too many questions to answer this year. They can contend for the division, but beyond hosting one playoff game, rebuilding/reloading is a must. Getting Unger is a plus for this team and having another first round pick will give us an opportunity to get another (hopefully) plug and go player. This trade, to me, is very similar to the McCoy-Alonso trade. A win for both teams.
I hope the Giants could trade for Vaccaro.
The saints owner and front office is smoking some goofy shit if they are trading just about everyone!
And the Saint trade Stills to the Dolphins!

What did you change? I didn’t see the comic before that notice was put up.
It was originally just about Jimmy Graham to Seattle.
