Jason Garrett Watches The Film
Remember when Jason Garrett won coach of the year when his lucky ass fell into a stud RB and a lucky late round QB clearly benefiting from Romo telling him what to do on the sidelines? That really happened. Jason Garrett is a coach of the year winner. This man, who seems incapable of emotion, who has given up his soul for the sellout job of being Jerry Jones’ puppet, was once coach of the year. Coach of the year. I still can’t believe that happened.

Here’s a fun fact, Jason Garrett almost became the head coach of the Ravens (in 2008, he was offered the gig before Harbaugh) but turned it down.
That was the greatest decision Jason Garrett ever made in my mind.
He’s still a good offensive coach even if he has literally only said no to something once this decade.
I don’t know how you can say that’s the greatest decision Garrett ever made. The Ravens went to the playoffs 5 years in a row and won a SB. I forgot Garrett even existed until this comic.
How is that the greatest decision he ever made? The Ravens had a fantastic 5 years and won a Superbowl with Harbaugh.
Because then Garrett would have been fired six years ago
After wasting what was left of Ed Reed’s career. At least Ray Lewis would have a ring to console himself with.
Cmon Dave. Its time to write that comic you’ve been holding back on.
The Giants O-Line / Old Yeller comic. After last night, its painfully obvious to everyone that its time to tank, grab the draft picks and rebuild lest the Giants become the Browns of the NFC East.
Ill give a pass to Eli on the basis that the Giants have no idea what to do there, he’s clearly past his best but Denver won a Superbowl with a Manning that was clearly past his best, so that particular Old Yeller decision is one they’ll have to wrestle with.
That was I was thinking when I logged in. But unfortunately ESPN wanted the plug pulled on him…
Always blame the QB.
One thing I forgot to add, even if the Giants drafts a QB next season there’s still the fact that they’ll need someone to hold down the position for a year or two before the new guy becomes ready. With the offensive line being offensive with its performance, last thing the team needs is doing what the Browns did to Tim Couch (whom the media love to throw the blame on). At least even the present day Giants have more talents than the Browns…
What’s even crazier is that they keep choosing to chuck the ball around like they want Eli to get hurt of something. Last night, everytime Saquon got the ball it looked like he was wearing a forcefield and no Eagle could touch him. Naturally, the Giants kept opting to drop back to pass even though the Eagles have the WRs shutdown and Eli is running for his life every play. At least he’s more slightly more athletic than Matt Ryan who’s on pace to get sacked 55 (!) times this year.
After the news that came out yesterday, I was kind of wondering if you had an opinion on any of it as a Giants fan, Dave. I think Eli can still be a decent QB in the league, but good gravy at that O-line. Saquon running behind a good line might not even need a QB. The battle is won in the trenches, as they say. Eli could still throw it IF he had a little more time.
Try telling that to the media who wanted him to be benched. I despise Pat Leonard especially.
Yes, Denver won a Superbowl with Noodle Arms Peyton. They also had Von Miller, DeMarcus Ware and a world class secondary that was nicknamed The No Fly Zone. Also the offensive line wasn’t trash (it was the next year, when all of the good tackles left/got traded and they decided that Russell “Holds” Okung was a great left tackle replacement). Fucking Brock Osweiler looked solid on this team. Trevor Siemian could have won a superbowl on that team. Case Keenum could have won a super bowl on that team.
Nathan Peterman could have won a Super Bo…….yeah probably not…….
It’s time to send Eli to the glue factory. I’ve had enough of watching checkdowns on 3rd and 15
If we get Will Grier we’re going 16-0 next year you heard it here first
Legend has it that if you diss checkdown passes three times, Alex Smoth will appear and become your quartback.
Why isn’t there a like button here?
You need to go back and look at some of Will’s Florida footage. That Mountaineer offense is designed to put up numbers. I’m not saying he is a system QB. Just that it’s amazing how he went from dud to stud in like 2 years.
Or Greer gets violated thanks to the o-line letting it happen.
What’s the paper in the upper left corner? It’s partially obscured by “The Draw Play” and can only read the bottom line, “Policy”
I’d also like to know why the “Fellate Jerry” tearaway sheet has so many tabs gone.
I applaud this comic. *Golf Clap*
Zoom&Enhance.
Looks like donut policy.
Maybe Garrett’s clapping form was bad because he was thinking ahead to next week’s game. Making this one a
Clap… Trap…
He should be a first base coach
How long will it be before Flowers gets Bortles killed?
Beat quote from Reddit “Well now he can just ask Campbell. Maybe that was the missing piece. Flowers never developed because he just sat around wondering about Calais Campbell. Every pass set instead of concentrating on his technique he was just contemplating Calais Campbell’s pass rush moves. Now that he’ll finally know he’ll be great”
i dunno why but i feel super motivated after reading your post!
*sigh*
That caught me off guard too, though it makes sense after the fact. Before that game they showed the Jags have one of the best secondaries and the Cowboys have one of the worst passing attacks. The trend held but that didn’t matter because the Jags didn’t stop the run even though check down Alex S… I mean Dak still failed to get to 200 passing yards. You don’t need a good secondary against the Cowboys, you need a good run defense
