Dan Snyder Sucks Example #38465

Apparently, the DeShaun Watson punishment drops today so nobody is going to talk about this but I didn’t want to let Dan Snyder holding up in his yacht as a stalling avoidance tactic so he wont have to testify to congress about his toxic bullshit go by unaddressed.
He’s just such a piece of shit, and the bar for his behavior just keeps plummeting into the center of the earth like the terrible ship in bad sci-fi classic The Core.
On the upside, other noted piece of shit Richie Incognito has finally fucked off out of the league permanently (again).
Nothing of value lost.
I saw The Core once. With friends. And by the end I couldn’t tell what they hated more. The movie itself, or how I couldn’t go longer than 5 seconds without chortling in disgust and lambasting it. Which seems right up Dan Snyder’s disease-infested back alley. He’s a disgusting man…. to the core.
If you go into The Core knowing it’s one of the dumbest movies out there it’s honestly a great time. But man, is it so dumb
“bad sci-fi classic” is a perfect description of both the movie and the headspace you need to approach said movie with
Yeaaaaaa, we totally did not know that going in. We were in the mood for a good movie, not a “toss back a few beers and let’s make fun of stuff!” kinda night. But we did ridicule the one who brung it. Stupid jerk! *shakes fist*
He’s disgusting and pretty much everyone wants him to go away, but the fact that even Congress itself has a difficult time controling him doesn’t give me much hope that he’ll be gone any time soon.
Now who’s ready to be incrediblely disappointed, but also unsurprised, by DeShaun getting like 4 games off?
It’s a lot easier to get 31 people to vote in their own economic interest than it is to get someone arrested and extradited for a nonviolent crime without international implications.
That said, they keep letting his hardship claim stand, even though his only excuse is that it’s hard to testify from his yacht moored in Europe, when he pretty clearly has the capability to communicate and they have no problem doing sworn testimony over video calls in any other setting.
“they keep letting his hardship claim stand, even though his only excuse is that it’s hard to testify from his yacht moored in Europe”
They didn’t. He was deposed remotely on Thursday
Good. I hadn’t seen that.
Considering how stubborn Snyder was in changing his team’s name, I’m surprised not to see Washington’s old logo on anything he owns.
Massage Boy got 6 games. Because, while his “pattern of behavior was egregious”, at least it was only “nonviolent sexual assault”. And before anyone says anything, the judge handing this down is a woman.
It’s still possible that the NFL “appeals” the ruling, meaning it then ends up in front of Goodell, so there’s a chance it could be suspended. But then the NFL would have to deal with a likely Watson lawsuit, keeping the matter in the media for longer instead of burying it underground for preseason games.
It’ll be more productive to hope a large sinkhole opens up under NFL headquarters, and a meteor hits the Browns’ stadium.
Is that really what she said? Oh well thank goodness non-violent sexual assault definitely doesn’t carry with it a degree of emotional damage that can lead to severe mental health issues and ruin a person’s entire sense of self-worth and comfort. over 20 cases and that’s all they hit him with….
That’s all SHE hit him with. We can hate Rog on principle but this isn’t on him. I thought, considering an independent arbitrator who was a woman was going to make the decision, that it was going to be a hefty one. I was really surprised when the rumours from yesterday were that it was expected to be 6 weeks, and was disappointed to find out the rumours were true this morning.
The NFL wanted to banish him. If it was still the past CBA, you can bet your tits he’d be banished already, as punishment for daring to have a fully-guaranteed contract if nothing else. The NFL can appeal, but I don’t know that they will, or even should. This was the first case that went to arbitration. It’d be terrible for them if they didn’t abide by the ruling on the first case, especially when it’ll likely go to court, and another federal judge will have to choose between their colleague and the NFL
I’d say that this is a case where we can’t blame Roger directly (yet) but we can definitely blame the judge for deciding to not hand down a stronger sentence.
And if (probably when, but I want to hope) Roger agrees with the 6 week suspension, then we can start blaming Roger, too.
There’s a lot to unpack, but the bulk of the ruling was her saying that he should get more, except the NFL systematically failed at every step. She more or less said it was violent by common definition, but not by the definition the league uses. She also said that he deserves more than six games, but because the NFL has never taken sexual misconduct seriously, and because they didn’t put out any formal notice when they implemented the new policy that the punishments could be stricter, they can’t just unilaterally increase the punishment for this one case. The issue was one of labor law, not the specific facts of the case.
My guess is the NFL appeals and doesn’t increase the time, but imposes a fine on him in the range of $1M-$3M. And then puts out a formal league-wide notice that sexual misconduct will be punished much stronger in the future, in line with the requirements of the new CBA.
Is that the most they can hit him with, fine-wise? Because I honestly wouldn’t mind the six games as much if they hit his wallet where it really hurts
No they could do more. I was basing it off between his entire 2022 Paragraph 5 salary (~$1M) and 6 games’ worth of his signing bonus (~$2.5M).
And yes, I love how Snyder has basically now staked a claim of “Sure, I’ll testify… eventually… in my schedule, not yours… if you promise not to be mean to me…
So Watson is getting only 2 games more than what Brady got in 2016.
And I thought A.J. Burnett’s pitching was inconsistent.
Could be worse. At least he’s only a sexual predator.
He could have been a murderer, gambling on games he wasn’t involved in, or *gasp* caught on the weed.
Or even, heaven forbid, wearing his socks the wrong way. It could always be worse, right?
Lol the NFL is a joke.
SIX FUCKING GAMES ARE YOU KIDDING ME
weed is so much worse than sexual assault
end sarcasm
Well, with Deshaun getting 6 games of suspension for 24 assaults, I guess someone only doing ONE will have to sit out an entire quarter of play….
Remember when the NFL said there’d be a set penalty for this sort of thing? Yeah that was nice.
Watson got 6 games for 24 cases of sexual assault and misconduct that also went on to involve the Houston Texans for their involvment with setting up the rooms for Watson’s “Massages” and providing him with NDAs to try and hide his fuck ups. He got the same punishment initially given to Big Ben for a single case of rape. These punishments are so inconsistent I wouldn’t be shocked to hear that Goodell just throws darts at a board or spins a wheel to determine suspension lengths. I get that a judge dished out the length, but Goodell agreed.
You see, this is why I advocate that we keep at least 2 battleships in the ready-to-go phase so that whenever we need to police someone back into the USA we do so at the business end of a 16 inch gun.
