Been laughing for 3 days about this. Aaron Rodgers with probably the biggest Own-Goal of the year. Absolutely hilarious.
Rodgers has been exposed for being an absolute dunce. I love it. Fancy man tried to play coy with the media to keep his actual status unknown. But Covid doesn’t care about that. Covid don’t lie. Now he’s been found out. It’s incredible because Rodgers spent so much time this summer being a weenie and teasing the Packers and fans, and now everyone knows he’s a homeopathic dumbass. I wonder if he decides his football plays by his star sign. His future wife eats clay for nutrition because her taxi driver in Africa told her it was cool, so you have to assume Rodgers has also eaten dirt. For health! Outstanding stuff.
The best part of all this is Rodgers is now a class-A dunce, worse than even Beasley or Cousins. At least with Beasley and Cousins, you knew where they stood. You knew their beliefs. In a public health crisis caused by highly communicable diseases, knowing exactly where someone stands on the issue is actually somewhat beneficial. You can safely avoid people with that information. You know who is at risk and who is a higher risk to you. But Rodgers? Rodgers more or less hid it. He acted like he was vaxxed because his galaxy brain ass thought whatever green tea some quack made him drink was the equivalent of a vaccine. He even lobbied the NFL to consider it as a vaccination! The NFL turned him down, because even the league has two effective brain cells when it comes to covering their own butts.
Rodgers has outed himself as the guy in the group who hides the zombie bite. Beasley? Beasley is the dumbass who wanders into danger thinking he’s safe and gets eaten right away. Rodgers is the guy who got bit, hid it, and now that decision is coming home to roost at the worst moment. If the Packers lose any games while he’s out, and they lose playoff seeding because of it, you can look back directly at this moment and blame him for it. He is reportedly “furious” that his unvaxed status came out. Sorry bud, that’s not how it works. You played with fire and you got burned. If you don’t get vaxed and catch covid, everyone is gonna find out thanks to the protocols in place. Wow! That’s what happened! Rodgers put everyone on the Packers at risk because the girl who starred in Divergent and her best friend Miles Teller told him it was healthy. My ass has fallen completely off at this point.
The big question now is what response comes out of this. Rodgers was unvaxed and the NFL considered him as such. Despite this, he’s been conducting interviews and such without a mask, against protocols. That’s just the obvious visible confirmation of one rule he’s broken. How many other rules has he broken? No way was he following all of those. So if the Packers knew, could they be liable for punishment? If the NFL in general knew and was trying to keep his status hushed because he’s a face of the league, will they react with a PR move that exponentially damages the Packers? This reminds me of the time in 2017 when Aaron Rodgers was activated from IR only to be sent back there when the season looked lost. Other teams noticed this was a violation and as a technicality he was supposed to be released. But it was swept under the rug for no reason and the Packers were granted immunity.

Its hard to imagine any kind of discipline or punishment will be applied for the faux vax incident. Vax or non-vax, you can still catch the virus and you can still spread it. Basically, the only thing the vax does is give extra protection against the symptoms of the virus. You should get vax, especially if you’re older or have pre-existing conditions, but also don’t think you’re now immune, because you’re vaxxed. You can still catch this. In fact, we probably ALL will, at some point. This is an airborne virus, like the flu… it’s not going away. Ever.
I mean, you’re not wroooong, but let’s not minimize the vaccine benefits. “Only” being protected from the symptoms means you’re FAR less likely to be hospitalized and/or die. That’s a SIGNIFICANT advantage over the unvaccinated.

The Vaccine lowers your viral load significantly even if you catch it. You are WAY less likely to incubate and spread it with the Vaccine, and the symptoms are greatly lessened. As one of those with serious pre-existing conditions (thanks to a different viral infection similar in its effects, but not a named coronavirus), thank you Punchgroin for your statements. Sure, the vaccine isn’t perfect, but it significantly lowers the chance of you getting the virus.
Think of it like being a soldier in the army. You wear body armor even though it won’t stop every bullet or explosion.
That said, you are absolutely correct that many of us will get it in our lifetime. Being vaccinated brings that chance down, and makes the chance of reinfection very low as well. That’s why continuing things like social distancing is pointless and actually harmful, especially once kids are able to get the vaccine (which is soon!).
Wrong example with the body armour – soldiers in the field actually trend towards less armour protecting the vitals as that protection comes with reduced mobility and endurance 😉 In fact that’s one of the reasons why the old Interceptor armour got replaced soquickly was that it was fine for vehicle bourne troops, it was fatiguing as hell for dismounts. Yeah, can’t say I’m a fan. The off-season stuff was business – he was trying to secure his future with the organization. I’m usually pretty pro-player, these are all individual humans with their own goals, wants, needs, etc. – I get it. Bald-faced lying like that (and I do consider it lying, since there was a very clear and obvious intent to deceive), combined with him having had a big speech to the entire team after the win over the Cardinals about all of them needing to “carry the G the right way” right before he goes off to some Halloween party and catches covid…combined with complaining about the team needing to “go all in”, I just…ugh. A charismatic and incredibly thoughtful, intelligent, and talented guy, but for some reason there seems to be a bit of a pattern with those types also being prone to near-lunatic levels of arrogant idiocy, and I am not a fan.
Kaolin works as an antidiarrheal medicine (it used to be the active ingredient in Kaopectate), and since it’s also a styptic it’s used for thinks you can’t use Imodium for like bloody stool, but it really doesn’t have any other internal medical uses and certainly doesn’t do anything for your immune system. I can’t think of any other clay off the top of my head that actually does anything useful if you eat it.
There are minerals that you could supplement by consuming clay. But that’s more about the soil composition than the clay itself. If you live at high elevations (or are old and don’t want to take Centrum Silver) you might consume clay to help with bone density issues.
So Rodgers is a complete dumb ass on not getting a shot and putting his team in a poor position for the next upcoming games. However, until a proper investigation can be done, there has been no proof the Packers org has been purposely violating protocols. Actually, it appears the media has no idea what they are, because the referred tweet is misinformed with the first one listed: that one applies only to staff not players. A lot of the so called violations so far the Packers have done actual meet the rules technically. Some of them are stupid overall (examples no masks needed for media interviews, preseason players are technically not inactive so they can go maskless on the sidelines, etc), but no solid evidence has been put forward that the Org was intentionally ignoring protocol compared to their compatriots.
Fine the hell out of Rodgers if he has been skimping on things (Halloween party and such), but I’ll wait until the NFL brings forth some real evidence before I throw the Org into the same category.
Your options are get vaccinated and return close to normalcy or continue to socially distance to protect others.
That’s it. There is no “I’m a healthy adult” middle path. Don’t want to get vaccinated? Fine! But you gotta wear a mask around facilities, socially distance in public, and keep social gatherings to a minimum number of people. There is no option to opt out of the global pandemic.
This is something that pisses me off the most about this whole pandemic, the people who won’t get vaxxed acting like it’s the people who will get vaxxed’s responsibility to carry the burden when the vaxxed people are the ones doing the right thing. But nope non-vaxxed people want to throw a fit when they not only don’t take the shot, but then get mad when they have to follow more rules. Tough!
I just feel bad for those that can’t get vaccinated due to medical reasons or age, everyone else I’ve lost all sympathy for.
My (least) favorite part of all this has got the be the fury about being exposed. Frustrated Packers fan here. Aaron is taking a good amount of shit for this, and I say good. I love the guy and everything he’s done for the team, but this whole thing is pants on head stupid. I had been hoping Rodgers would win a second Super Bowl just to surpass Farvre.
Favre was a world-class dick to Rodgers, I always found his folksy down-home demeanour disingenuous, and it was downright icky how much some commentators (LOOKING AT YOU, AIKMAN & BUCK) would ogle over him, and make such a big deal about his scrambling and “Just knows how to win” when he was just as likely to screw up and turn a game-winning play into a game-losing one.
I really wanted Rodgers to win another one to *prove* unarguably that he was the better quarterback and better person that Favre. That started to change this summer. Now I not just don’t want to see Rodgers win another Super Bowl, I actually want to see Rodgers out — not just of GB, but the league.
Worst case scenario is that Love takes the starting job and wins it all for GB, but A.A.Ron stayed on the roster long enough to gets a second ring for … being a dick.
