Every comic is yaoi now (I promise this is the last one for the time being).

I’m gonna be honest I don’t know what the Rams are doing. I get that Stafford is old and expensive, but he’s still pretty good, and this is a terrible year to be in the market for a new quarterback. Downsizing to some guy like, I dunno, Jimmy Garroppolo would be a major downgrade in a tough division, and the Rams aren’t in position to draft anyone to develop, because all the QBs coming out kinda suck. It seems to me the move would be to pay him a good shorter-term deal, and I hope he doesn’t become Falcons Kirk Cousins. But they gave him permission to seek a trade, and the suitors are lining up.

Stafford spent the weekend just hanging out with Tom Brady at his house in Montana. Presumably just “as cool guys, hanging out”. Im sure they didn’t talk about football at all. They probably played golf, drank some brewskies, had some underpaid staffer make them a delicious meal, and discussed how good Severance is while they pruned in the hot tub. Tom Brady, the minority owner of the Raiders, just chilling with his bro. Yes the Raiders are down bad for a QB, but this wasn’t tampering, just some quality guy time. Tommy’s probably feeling a little insecure lately because he’s single and lonely and none of the hooters waitresses Mark Davis has set him up with are very interesting. He’s just feeling down about himself and needed a good bro to cheer him up. Just chilling. Shooting the shit. See where things go from there.

Okay okay okay I promise I’m done.

I’m not sure what team Stafford could end up on that makes much sense outside the Steelers. The Steelers are at least a good team with potential that need a QB to win now. The Raiders? The Raiders are garbage. The Giants are garbage. The Jets are garbage. The Colts? I guess that’s possible, if they trade Anthony Richardson to LA to get developed there instead. Stafford doesn’t really solve anything on any of these other teams. The Raiders have too many holes to turn it around particularly quickly. Same goes for the Giants. I really don’t want him on the Giants. Stafford would unquestionably be an upgrade but it’s not a good scenario. Stafford is a statue, the Giants line is bad. The Giants have a ton of problems, and to wrap that up with a bunch of money and lost draft assets in a QB who is almost 40 is probably a mistake. Stafford is good enough that he can probably overcome some of the line’s problems with his smart boy brain but Stafford isn’t the future of the franchise. He’d just be an expensive bridge QB at the end of his career. I don’t want Schoen doing exactly what Gettleman and Reese did: a bunch of desperation moves when they are on the hot seat that just put the next GM into a hole. This is why bad teams stay bad. I like Stafford, don’t punish him by making him play for the Giants.

Maybe the Giants can just sign Rodgers instead and I can straight up root for everyone’s downfall all year for the first time in my life. Might be a fun way to switch things up. Dave joker mode.
